David Pérez, por el seleccionado de nuestro país, y Yargel Herrera marcaron los tantos del partido.

Colombia afrontó su tercera salida en el Suramericano Sub-17 de Paraguay contra una sorprendente Venezuela. El objetivo de la Selección nacional era conseguir los tres puntos, pero la vinotinto no tenía en sus planes ceder puntos.

El equipo dirigido por Juan Camilo Pérez comenzó el partido presionando y manejando el balón. A los seis minutos del primero tiempo, el volante Jhon Arango fue derribado en el área y el árbitro del compromiso pitó penalti.

David Pérez se paró frente a la pelota y, con mucha tranquilidad, cobró con su pie derecho. El volante cruzó el esférico y el arquero venezolano no pudo hacer nada, pues escogió el palo equivocado. 1-0 a favor de Colombia.

El equipo nacional mantuvo el ritmo hasta los 20 minutos. A partir de ahí, Venezuela se tomó confianza y atacó el arco defendido por Luis García, pero sin éxito.

Para la segunda etapa, las cosas no cambiaron mucho de cómo habían terminado en la primera. Y a los 14 ST Venezuela cobró un tiro de esquina: Vega y Lucumí, los centrales de Colombia, fueron muy pasivos y Yargel Herrara se levantó y conectó de cabeza el balón para poner en el marcador el 1-1.

Colombia buscó el tanto del triunfo, pero no estuvo afinado en el último cuarto de cancha. Así, el partido terminó sin muchas acciones para destacar.

Con el empate, la tricolor quedó con cuatro unidades y le queda por disputar un partido en el grupo. Por su parte, la vinotinto ya jugó sus cuatro encuentros y, con cinco puntos, solo le queda esperar a que se juegue la última fecha de la zona, que se disputará el próximo viernes.
Paraguay venció por 2-0 a Perú, en el otro duelo del grupo A en el Sudamericano. Paraguay se fue arriba gracias a un cabezazo de Rodi Ferreira en la primera parte, y una jugada de Carlos Ferreira en la segunda, ante un impotente Perú que no consiguió marcar y se condena a seguir como colista de su grupo. Venezuela continúa líder del grupo A con cinco puntos, después de perder con Paraguay, empatar con Perú y vencer por sorpresa a Brasil. En la próxima jornada, el viernes 13, Brasil se medirá con un Perú que no acaba de encontrar el ritmo, mientras que Paraguay tiene cita con Colombia, a la que pisa los talones a igualdad de puntos en la clasificación del grupo.
